On our recent trip, I watched An Education which affected me profoundly, so much so that last Sunday I got hold of the DVD and watched it again with my husband and a friend

I remember my friend from Berlin recommending Goodbye Lenin for much the same reasons. It captured Berlin in the East German era so perfectly, including furnishings, vehicles, and attitudes.
