Th striped ones are zebra butterflies (Heliconius charitonius). The dark blue guy is some kind of swallowtail. I need a better butterfly book.

Was this a butterfly exhibit?

Brookside Gardens has a conservatory in which they purchase pupae of butterflies, they put the chrysalises in emergence boxes till they hatch out, and then those fly around the greenhouse.

the tough part is that these guys in the exhibit could be from all around the world.. in the picture from a previous post, P remembers that the big guy eating the fruit with the spot on his side is a "Owl" from Costa Rica. Thanks for the zebra identification, they look like a zebra. :)

I would put myself on his back for a ride.

Do you sometimes let people work with your images?

I dunno if you've got them protected for a reason, but if you'd consider making these public I'd LOVE to show some of my friends. They're really lovely!

To be honest, I took my LJ mostly "friends only" cause of some harassment (is there anybody who hasn't faced that?), but I guess I don't mind.

I fixed them so they can see if they feel like. :)
