I just read something on how men need the permission of their wife before they do anything or make any plans. Of course this is true the other way round as well. Whatever views a person holds on this are of course personal because this is not a right or wrong situation

with my hubby and I we just inform each other... It's not permission getting per se, but so we both don't make plans for that time he/me want to do something else.

If my husband wanted me to ask for permission, I would have just laughed. I encourage him to go hang out with his friends. Even when his mom was here, I encouraged him to have mother-son time. Just because we are married doesn't mean we lose our individual self.

It's all a balancing act!

I completely agree with you! Thats exactly how it should be! Always seeking permission does not show respect, respect and understanding are shown the way you guys do it!
