My fingers hurt still

Jan 06, 2009 16:51

I finally finished the choker I'd been working on last night. Took close to 7 hours but I got it done! I'm seriously <3ing this stich but restraining myself from going out and buying a lot of swarovskis and playing around with bead weaving. Gotta save for BotCon. >.> I think I'm gonna put this up on Etsy along with the other blue swarovski bracelet ( Read more... )

*nods* I'm liking it. But I am biased towards those colors too. XP I'm wondering if I would be a total crackhead for asking like 45 bucks or 50 bucks for it. I mean there is a lot of time and materials invested in that little bugger. *waffles back and forth!*

I don't think that would be asking too much! It looks absolutely fantastic!

*waffles some more!* Yeah. *huffs* I need to do something to offset my costs and I understand that but still. *snerk* 'course if I were to market it as emo or goth it would prolly go like hotcakes. *rolls eyes*

Want something like This or is that too shiny and ostentatious for you? XP I can do something in a more natural gemstone instead of the Swarovski crystals

GUH. *drools*

Fifty bucks is underpricing it. I'd say $100 at least. Then if it doesn't move after a while you can always knock the price down and put a big old "SALE! :D" in the title.

Also, bead spinners rule. Probably rule even more for people actually doing something with them instead of stringing ropes to hang other stuff on. ;D

A hundred? Ehhhhhh....though the sale thing is a good idea. *grins*

Yeah I can imagine. Will the little hook needle thingies handle beads as small as delica or 15/0?

Okay, maybe $100 is a little bit out there... try $75. You never know when someone with a lot of disposable income is going to fall in love with something in your shop.

Never done anything with the 15/0, but it deals with Delicas just fine. Maybe I'll go this weekend and find a tube of 15/0s just to see what happens.

*grin* This is true. *snerk*

Yeah, I've fallen in love with the 15/0 but it's sooooo tiny! But part of the reason I've always shied away from seed beads is the size of them. So yeah, a bead spinner will make things a lot easier. I'll swing by Hobby Lobby and pick up one on Friday methinks.

I'LL BUY ONE

No seriously, that is /awesome/.

You make me wish I were into doing this myself-- there's a HUGE beading supply store here that sells truly gorgeous things. Oh, if only!

*grin* Well the choker is up Here and I can make you something else if you have a color choice you'd rather have like green gems and copper.

And thank you! I'm having a lot of fun with this stitch and don't tell me that. T_T I miss Houston and it's plethora of bead stores. The place I went to for my classes are kinda pricy but the ladies who run it are really nice. And that other beading store has the cheap swarovski crystals is like a 20 minute drive. So not TOO bad I suppose.

Green and copper? DUDE. That sounds even more awesome. Dark turquoise-y green and copper/gold colors.... :D~ Don't give me too many choices, I might not be able to decide! I don't have pierced ears though, so no complimentary earrings are necessary... ;)

Well, I don't have any turquoise-y beads on hand at the moment but they're easily enough procured. And awwww on the earrings though I could prolly whip up a bracelet to match if needs be. Been lazy this week writing and I haven't gotten around to making the matching bracelet for the choker yet. XP
