Hot doggin'

It's sunny, it's warm, it's time to fire up the grill and bbq... cheeseburgers! I can justify bbq'ing hamburgers, but it seems like such a waste of time and gas to do it for hot dogs. I hate nuked hot dogs, though, which unfortunately is is someone-who-shall-remain-unnamed's method of choice. So how do you cook your hot dogs? Broil? Boil? Pan- ( Read more... )

When I was little, my mom always used to boil 'em. (We had them every Saturday for lunch, because her dad always did, so I guess that was mandatory...) You could always make Crazy Wieners, too... just a few cuts before boiling and you've got an octopus :)

I generally microwave Hot Dogs. I don't actually like them that way, but it's much much faster that way... which is really the reason I'd eat non-grilled hot-dogs.

Back-in-the-day mom would boil them for franks and beans, etc. Like a lot of things, you tend to leave a lot of the hot-dog flavor behind in the water.

If you've got the time, just grill-em. If you include the time to heat the water, it takes just as long. (So says the person who grills year-round)
