I think that woman's behavior was just plain rude, frankly.
Maybe if she just ASKED you to have conversations with her now and then, instead of trying to force you into it? Hello, that would be much better. She wasn't thinking about how it was a chore for you to slug through it whenever SHE wanted it spoken. Inconsiderate at the very least.
Yes, and no. I guess to her it made sense since, in her head, geographically and historically Swedish is the logical language to use (just...not in practice). She accommodated everyone else 99% of the time by speaking English, so I do understand the urge to switch languages.
At the same time, yes, it was inconsiderate. I've always fallen into the "meet in the middle" school (which I'm aware many find absurd), namely using a language that is foreign to both to give equal ground to both.
How are things? Busy? Thanks for the heads up on Darren and Lee; I certainly felt nostalgic on hearing about it. :)
