awesome, girl, and I totally agree. Now if we can get those mf-ers to stop whining about how much federal money we need and how it comes "out of their taxpayer's pocket". These are usually the same heartless bastards that think welfare is a personal violation to their checkbooks.

Hey, when I come down I was going to spend the time you were at work volunteering with some organization or another. If you do want to do all those things help me find a good group. Or even if you don't then still help me find a group. Animals would be my first choice, but since everything is needed just let me know.

City Park needs volunteers, and will for some time; they lost a lot of plants and trees, and had to lay off nearly all their employees. www.neworleanscitypark.com

I'll check into animal organizations. Some of them have gotten shady reputations (still breaking into people's homes and "rescuing" animals, even after the homeowners have returned for good). I'll see if I can find a good one for you.

Cool! City Park sounds really neat, too. Yea, a lot of rescue groups aren't in it for te rescue but for the quick turn over and fast buck. Unfortunately, it's every where...but I'm sure it's a bit more aggressive down there right now. )-: I'm thinking it will be Jan. 23-27 when I'll be down.

Was the City Park the one that you posted about earlier that needed plants? If so what was that link again?

Here is the wishlist for the botanical garden. http://www.neworleanscitypark.com/plantlist.php

I haven't given them my Dragon's Blood plant yet, because Weetzie chewed it nearly to death one day when I had brought it in to water it and forgot about it. It's coming back slowly, though. I think I'll let it grow for a few more months, divide it, and give the park one of the divisions.
