Silliest Song Moment Ever...

Jun 20, 2005 09:02

... is that moment in Paula Cole's song "Where Have All The Cowboys Gone?" when she sings, "I am wearing my new dress today, but you don't but you don't even notiiiiiiiiiiiice meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee."

Also, why aren't The Cardigans still around? That group was cool.

I've met Paula Cole, and I question the sincerity of that lyric. The only way she could not be noticed if she was hiding behind a brick wall. Of course, maybe it was the "big brick wall" dress, which was big in the mid 90s. Man, that was a rough time for the scene. Hard to chat up girls and painful on the dance floor.

Maybe he didn't notice her new dress because of the distraction of her immense pit hair.

Are the Cardigans not still around? I've heard semi-recent music of theirs.

Pit hair is tricky. Sometimes, it's a giant turn-off. But now and then, with the right woman, it works. It really works.

Just not for Ms. Cole, imho.

huh. Let me know someone that it works for. I'm not visualizing. I'm kind of anti-hair though. My blonde arm hair gets on my nerves.

Well, I could give you her name, but you don't know her, so it'd be sorta ... ya know, pointless. But for this girl I'm thinking of ... well, it just doesn't bother me at all. But then, there was this OTHER girl ...

i think when Elton John say's "Benny" like a million times at the end of the song "Benny and the Jets" is pretty fucked up.

Good to know and hear. I'd forgotten about them, but they're back, or, rather, I'm back.

And mmmm, she's cute.
