Interesting weekend: I had what you might call a "blind date" on Friday night. She's a fiercely intelligent pop culture scholar at UT who also dabbles in rugby. We talked about academia a bunch, and whether the researcher should insert their personal narrative into their work (I say no; she says absolutely). That's understandable due to the fact that I was physically exhausted and innapropriately hungover coupled with silently loathing myself for my drinking habits, but I had fun dancing and was pleasantly surprised with Spoon, you should burn me a cd.

I'm *jealous*...the last time I played Ultimate Frisbee I had a heat stroke. It was like 112 outside though, so it was reasonable! And Spoon rocks. I'm so sad I'm not in Austin to enjoy Austin music anymore!
