It appears I've lost some "friends" on LJ. I suspect it's because my first reaction to the politicizing of a natural disaster wasn't a full-throttled embrace of it, instead choosing to reflect on the fragility of life, nature, dignity, etc. Which is fine

It would be all too easy to point a finger of blame at George, who I don't like, but I know better. Of course he's responsible for the screwed up things that he's done, but I personally feel that instantaneous politicizing is short-sighted.
I think it's pretty obvious that nothing good will come from this administration. I didn't need Katrina to tell me that. I'll just jot this down on my list. I think too many people are seeing this as the straw that broke the camel's back. I think this camel moved to Canada on November 2nd.
The thing is, people are going to need blood transfusions and housing. George will get his later.

Yeah, orthodoxy is a good way of putting it. I certainly don't hold it against anyone who wishes to defriend me, but it does give me some insight into their views about what constitutes loyalty and what doesn't. Or hell, maybe it gives me no insight at all.
