I tested all of my amber today.

Most of it passed the three tests that I do. One mini-strand failed the first test on the list - specific gravity. I popped it in a solution of 23g table salt mixed with 200 ml tap water. It was supposed to pop back up to the surface and float. It didn't pop. It sank right down to the bottom and lay there like a rock (which amber is not

A guilty pleasure of mine. Many times have I asked priestesses about their amber. "The energy is electric!" "Pulsing with life" "I could tell just by feeling it!". Then I put them to one of the tests and they FAIL! Then I chuckle wickedly. This is why I was/am the naughty neophyte par excellence.

I am sad too. The boy is working costumes for two shows before he leaves for london, so he is stuck here. plus I am using all my remaining vacation for prep my classes, write manuscripts and purge my house of shit.

Grrr. Have had similar breaking of trust issues with, "Is it solid copper? Is it going to wear off?" etc... I hope that the lady I was talking with that day just didn't know beans about that small portion of their product. Still lying to make a sale sucks.
