I really think that they suffer from Casey being gone, as he really added a much needed sense of urgency and catharsis to Heart/Synapse. Mi Fa Mi is, however, a much better record than it should have been, considering all of the line up changes, and you can hear places where the much-missed intensity which Casey's vocals brought shine through. I think this is a momentary, but necessary, lull, and that the next album will be a return to form. I'd give it a 7/10, whereas Heart/Synapse was a solid 10/10.
they're good. i don't know about manly, but they're good. When I was in fye in new york picking up treos, I saw that manchester orchestra got re-released on a major label: bummer
