To be dead honest, the most immediate inspiration is because I hear you reposted my meme and I'm curious to watch it spread.

Beyond that, though, I'm looking to expand the circle of academics on my flist, and you seem to be one of the most brutally honest people about the state of my future (or current, depending on your POV) career, which is a perspective I appreciate.
