Do you like non-Japanese rock? The only rock I'm liking these days is coming from people who aren't a part of the whole rock scene in general. The hard rock thing kind of lost its innocence after the 80's, and so much of it's all so generic (the pop rock AND the piss-your-parents-off rock) and commercial these days. I have a lot of respect for X Japan, back in the day, because you could tell that they believed in what they did. This was not a prefab band out to sell records -- they were sincere, and I think it showed. Additionally, I think that some of their guitar work is solid, and I think most would concede that Yoshiki is an amazing drummer, even if you don't like their music.
And I'll show you a メガ粒子砲. Gundam is boring and played, played, played.
