I'm of that age now where friends and family are getting married, or engaged, or even possibly skipping the engagement part and going straight to the wedding part; these things all end in the same joyful union and legal documentation. I'm sorry you feel that way sometimes. There's nothing wrong with not getting married. Sometimes it strikes me just how traditional and heternormative I am. Many couples I know who have been together for a long time before marriage end up doing so for less than romantic reasons, i.e. health insurance and tax breaks. And we all know that there are plenty of married couples who are miserable, and many unmarried ones who stay together for life. The most important thing holding together any family, traditional or not, is love...and I'm sure you have an abundance of it in your life :)
