(No, your eyes aren't deceiving you: I deleted the previous entry - I felt it was very crappily written.)
I can't believe the Olympics are over already! I barely watched any events (no thanks to you, schoolwork); those that I did get to watch - live, not the repeat telecasts - were the final for the Men's 100m Freestyle (PIEEEEEEEETER), and bits and pieces of Athletics, Diving, and Gymnastics.
Still, I got to suss out some lookers, all of whom coincidentally are from Athletics (guess that shows which of the above I got to watch the most, huh?) ... and have earned themselves podium places.
Firstly, there's Alex Schwazer, whose accomplishment can be seen in the picture below.
Pretty ingenious, eh - taking a photo of the TV?
There's Andreas Thorkildsen, who won the gold medal for the Men's Javelin Throw.
The following somewhat reminds me of
Crazy Hoogie.
There's also Evgeny Lukyanenko, who came in second for the Men's Pole Vault.
I couldn't find any of him alone, so this will have to do. He's the one on the left.
Then of course, there's the one and only ... Pieter!
Those are old pictures, I know, but I can't find any of him in Beijing. The closest Games-related picture of him I could find was this:
It's just his profile picture on the official website. D'oh.
Note that I included a picture of each one with his medal - even Pieter, though his wasn't recent. Hee!
On a completely, completely unrelated note, we caught a rat in our backyard. We'll be releasing it somewhere far from our house, but in the meantime, I got pictures!
It kept hissing and squeaking at me when I first started taking pictures, but it calmed down shortly after. I wondered why its teeth were rust-coloured until
the_wanlorn commented on the previous incarnation of this entry, saying that it was normal for rats' teeth to be a little discoloured like that. Pretty neat, I thought; like they say, you learn something new everyday!
I think it's kind of cute, actually: I like its eyes and the colour of its fur. But if for some reason the pictures made you feel uncomfortable (you don't like rats, etc.), here's a picture of Paris under the cut to hopefully make you feel a little better.
Or alternatively, you could scroll back up and ogle the hot athletes - an option I wholeheartedly endorse!
