I'm afraid that was what first made me turn to yaoi and the occasional yuri. Not only does all hentai seem to be aimed at males, but it seems like most of it is aimed at really nasty males. ^^;

Not that I mind some good ol' fashioned yaoi, but... sometimes some nice, sweet het would be nice.

A lot of yuri is, unfortunately. But I have found that you have a better chance of finding nice, consentual, not-necessarily-big-breasted yuri than het. And the vast majority of yaoi makes some attempt at plot (not always GOOD plot, but plot nonetheless), and even the non-con tends to have more sweet elements to it ("whoops, I just raped you, wanna be my friend/lover/roommate?").

I think the thing is, no-one draws doujin with romance in mind. If they want romance, they write romance novels.

Ah, but that's not true. There are romantic doujins (though I've had better luck finding them in the yaoi category than either het or yuri), for one thing---I just wish there were more---
and for another, romance novels are an entirely different thing (if only for the written versus visual distinction, hello), so they have no place in the conversation at all. ;P

I don't even need romance, though...what I would like to see is more consensuality. (I'm not a huge fan of non-con, in doujin or fic or real life.) It may be naive of me, but I admit to hoping that the vaaaaaaaaaaast majority of people don't draw doujin with rape in mind. (Although I begin to suspect that's the case...)

You might want to seek out the "hana hentai" category of doujin if you're looking for nice, romantic vanilla het stuff. I'm not sure if many doujin stores/sites use it, but I have seen it mentioned here and there. :)
