1. Tell you why I friended you:
   
   I "friended" you on LJ because I thought your first post was so well put, so personal, that I wanted to see more of what you had to say. Besides, how could I not add someone whom I know in the real world?
   
2. Associate you with something:
   
   Well, polka-dots, obviously. Also, I associate you just a little with a high school lover that you resemble slightly, but that's a little much. Let's stick with polka-dots, shall we?
   
3. Tell you something I like about you:
   
   The strength of your character being so apparent in your everyday attitudes and choices. You are consistently ready to feel wonder, even when cynicism and self-pity could be equally possible.
   
4. Tell you a memory I have of you:
   
   Watching you smile and laugh on the bench in front of my little apartment. We were talking about all these big, philosophical things and still cracking jokes with one another and you made that excellent laugh of yours where you throw back your head and open wide to let it out. I really liked that day

a. why I friended you: because I knew we were going to be great friends the first time we met. I wanted to read your journal, this is great I love being nosey.

b. associate you with something: medium

c. tell you something I like about you: you are very compassionate, and you have a great understanding for others. You're a really good listener, and you've helped me a lot because of this. This is just one something. There are a lot of others.

d. Tell you a memory I have of you: I told you about a tough, terrible turning point in my life, and you were one hundred percent there for me, and it was really cool to be able to tell you guys about that and feel okay. (And Saturday was awesome, but you already took that answer!)

e. Ask something I've always wanted to know about you:
what decision have you made that you are most proud of? How would your life be different had you chosen differently?

You know what? Out of all the people who replied to my post, you're the only one--yes, the ONLY one who followed "g" which is posting it in your own lj.

   Well duh, because you were a huge crush for me at the time. You know, I was never out of control about it or anything, but I adored you and we spoke and you were so kind and amusing... I wanted any connection with you available and you were here, so... yeah.
   
2. Associate you with something:
   
   Don't know how you'll feel about it, but honestly I always associated you with Delibes' well-known piece "Dôme Èpais (Lakmé)" (also called the "flower duet"). There are a couple newer versions, but the original is still my favorite. There was a more "modernized" version which was kinda cool, and even several techno and darkwave tracks that borrow from it, but like I said, the original is where I find my heart, and it's associated in my mind to you, dear Anna.
   
3. Tell you something I like about you:
   
   Your highly gentle nature when you speak. While I am aware of the strong emotive self you carry beneath it, you have this very subtle and silken manner of speaking. It's coy

Well, I am very lucky to have the perspective that I do. I tempted fate when I was younger, trying the easy way out, and failed. When I realized that easy isn't an option, life became much better. Now, in my darkest hours, I still have this passion for myself, my life... I can still feel it. And I have this knowing that I kick ass, and that I can do it. Fuck everything else. I just know I will make it, because I know what it's like to choose to live, and I promised myself that I would never settle, never give up. So that makes me feel pretty darn good even when I feel like shit. I'm very lucky.
