Sitting in the airport...

So I land in Newark at about 4, staying in the Bowery, and the conference doesn't start until tomorrow. What would *you* do with a free evening in New York?

Walk--everything else is too expensive.

In fact I walked for miles and miles last time, and enjoyed myself so much I went out again the next night, after my event.

I already succumbed to this temptation! It turns out our hotel is upstairs from a bunch of chinese open-air groceries and bakeries and such, it is quite marvellous...

You'd probably like the Knitting Factory (jazz venue), assuming it still exists.

Last minute student rush-ish tickets for something broadway? Though, me, personally? I'd go walking and see where that led me.

Walking is indeed pretty awesome! I ended up like dead-reckoning it getting here -- "Hmm, so if I get to that station, I can probably find a subway that gets closer...", just because wandering was so nice.
