theatrical_muse: What do you think?

"Do you think she really loved that guy?" he asks, and Dinah raises her head, then her eyebrow.

"Who?" she wonders, turning her attention back to the mirror.

Bart watches as Dinah straightens her long black wig, which perfectly matches the dark coat covering her clothes.

After a few moments of silence, he speaks again. "Chloe. Do you think she really loved this Jimmy guy?"

Dinah tilts her head, giving him a look. "What do you think, Bart? She did marry him."

"Yeah, but... how come I didn't even know that she dating the guy?" he asks. "I mean... for a while, I thought she was dating Clark. But then I realized... Boy Scout's too dumb to go for it."

"Maybe it's because she knew how you'd react?" she suggests. "I think it's more than obvious how much she means to you, Bart. Maybe she didn't want to hurt you."

He nods slowly, and looks down. "Maybe you're right." He pauses again, this time for a shorter amount of time. "Do you think she still loves him? I mean... they got it annulled or were divorced or whatever."

Dinah sighs, and turns toward him a bit more. "Bart, I think... I think sometimes, when you've loved someone... you take a part of that with you. It sometimes stays with you, for the rest of your life. It doesn't mean you can't love someone else. Some people... I guess they have more than one true love. I believe you only have one soulmate, but... you can experience that type of love for others." He sees something sad in her eyes, but he can't quite figure out what it is. "And sometimes.. well, I think, most of the time... the love you can feel for someone, soulmate or not, it can stay with you, even after..."

"They're dead?" he finishes the sentence for her, proving that he is paying attention, and she nods.

"Chloe may always love Jimmy, Bart. Even though he's... gone now." She shakes her head sadly. "But that doesn't mean that's the end. She'll probably love again, Bart. I don't know if it'll be you, but... it could be. Maybe one day. We don't know yet. All you can do is be there for her. Be her friend. She needs a friend right now, Bart. She needs support. And if you love her as much as it seems you might... then show her. Be there for her. Can you do that?"

He seems to think about it for a long moment, and then finally nods again. "I can."
