Personal loss...

Amidala: beautiful paranoid freak of a cat (possibly a Ragdoll); born: (approx.) 1/28/2003; died: 3/23/2010. She is survived by her two adult offspring Luke & Leia. She is and will be sorely missed. (I still can't believe she's gone...) :(

What surprised Paul was how hard it hit him; this was a cat that keep herself very much out of arm's reach whenever possible (which was frequent) and never allowed herself to be petted or touched by any human, including us. Maybe she loved us but was too wary of what bad thing might happen, maybe she was just tolerant of us --- there's no telling; she never gave any outward sign of affection other than to stay in the same room and even under whatever chair one of us was in --- so long as we didn't try to touch her. While it was nice to finally touch her, hold her, and even pet her just before she died (in my arms), the reason why we could do that wasn't: she didn't have the energy to get away or put up any real struggle. She was a real nutburger, but I still didn't want to lose her. :(
