Elspethdixon's Big Damn Fanfic ListBeing an index to every piece of extant-on-the-web fic by Elspethdixon since her freshman year of college, including the clichéd badfic, the abandoned WiPs, the one that turned up on McTabby’s Summary Executions, and the one with the word “orbs” in it. From Harry Potter to Pirates of the Caribbean, and beyond. ( Read more... )

You probably ought to win some sort of prize for being the only person to have ever written January fic.

I had hoped that my reward would be to spurr wider interest in the fandom (if three people squeeing over one fic can be called that), but it seems not to have happened.

It's actually left me rather disappointed in fandom that no one has. I'll have to et myself over this writers-block and see about adding my own efforts into the mix.

Sorry to drop by out of the blue, but I wanted to say that - having just read your Iron Man/Captain America fic - I absolutely adore it; especially the Resurrection universe ;)

though i question your antipathy toward spiders... i found your ressurection story rec'd on epic recs *last tursday* and, though i had never thought of tony and steve together, i have since read just about everything, in the archive and that i could find through the links. and, wow. i seldom comment on fic unless it's of the 'ate my brain' sort, and yours is. yours and your partner's. writing partner's. yeah. anyhow. love the fic, love the series, wish there was more graphic sex (because i'm a perve). really, really looking forward to the next installment, which i suspect will have something to do with wanda. and have you thought about adding some nice luke/danny/jess threesome fic?

it's really quite good. thank you for sharing :)

Having just recently discovered the “andoneforall” LJ for Musketeer fic, I have been reading though some of the older entries. I know you have moved on in your fic writing, but I still wanted to express my enjoyment of some of your pieces. It is always fun to get feedback on an older story, don’t you think? “Concerning Cardinalists and Seawalls” is an exciting swashbuckling adventure written in the style of Dumas himself, and although, as such, keeps the reader at a certain emotional distance (less engagement with characters’ internal motivations and feelings) I appreciated it as a well written, enchanting piece. The “Canadian Shack” story is more emotionally engaging for me. Such a delightful little ditty which allows for a glimpse of the intensity of Porthos attachment to Aramis. Thank you for that. I find their relationship is often overshadowed by the dynamics of the others in much of the Musketeer fanfic available on the net. I also note you have written in other fandoms I enjoy, such as Tombstone and Pirates of the ( ... )

Wow, that's a LOT of fic. jazzypom March 4 2009, 11:52:17 UTC
I'm always in awe of prolific writers even if the stuff is bad (your stuff is actually, very good. I can only vouch for the cap_ironman stuff though :P). That takes commitment, discipline and excellent use of time.

Trust me, the stuff I wrote seven years ago when I was 18 is considerably less good (for one thing, I used to call people's eyes 'orbs,' for another, I didn't learn to plot until somewhere around PotC fandom, and I didn't learn pacing until RR&R years ago). At least the internet and I both benefited from the fact that I didn't gain the ability to post anything online until i was already in college.
