ooh neat I always wanted to learn to drum for the belly dance purposes. Maybe something to do when I get back.
Sorry to hear your back hurts so much. That really sucks. I know mine was hurting quite a bit until I started doing situps. I don't know what your problem is, obviously, but that pretty much nipped mine in the bud.
Hope you feel better Els. :-/
And maybe you shouldn't be too disappointed--we are usually our own worst critics. Or most blindly adoring fans, but that's rare after the fourth or fifth birthday.
yeah, you are right about the situps. my back stopped hurting when i did them, but that was back when i was crazy anorexic, so now i feel weird about situps. i'll go back to them someday.
the monologues raised the least money they have ever raised in their almost 10 year hisory at ou this year.
i miss yous! since i am taking a year off i'll still be here when you get back. we can start a drumming circle for fastidious people with scoliosis. hugs!
Sorry about the gina problem. Shit happens--and if people didn't come, does that necessarily mean there was something wrong with the performance? Or just lack of vaginal interest?
And I miss you too. Am looking forward to seeing you again and drinking obscene tea quantities and starting the fastidious scoliosis crew.

Well, upon review, it looks like TVM made $400 more than last year, so I was wrong. Attendance was puny because it was on weeknights and poorly publicised.
Haven't you ever noticed that drum circles are dominated by scruffy hippies and white peeps with dreds? I want none of that, I tell you! I know it is imperialist in a way, but I prefer hygeine over rhythm. I cannot escape this aspect of my british heritage. I cherish it perversely while I purse my lips, raise my brows and tilt my head back in that affected way so dear to me.

Heh. Well, I rarely visit LJ these days unless I get an auto-email telling me I have a comment. I had been wondering about you, tho, because it has been a long time. I hope you're well, relatively speaking, anyway. Did that Yale stuff pan out? I think I'm going to apply to their MFA program even tho it's a long shot. My father is now at my mum's, and I go babysit him 2-4 times a week for 5-12 hours at a stretch. He is mildly brain damaged, I think, but mostly competent despite being out of touch with reality. I had an Art History mid term tonight in my Byzantine Icons class. I'm fatigued and depressed, but it's spring break next week, so I'm okay. you?
