I hear ya when you say you don't want to study anymore. I'm tired of that crap already. But hang in there, you are almost done and I know you can make it to the finishing line.

An employee who is unhappy at his workplace is an unhappy employee. I think that you should seriously consider changing places and go for the place you really want to be at.

Seems you also want to leave the US and go back to the familiar place that is the island. Hama, hang in there! Ok? Don't worry. I know what you mean, by longing to finish and for that sigh. It's coming, no worries! You will get through with this, and then you will be very, very proud of yourself. No worries!
You will go for a PhD? Cool. Maybe on the island? Oh, and I hear ya! Just packing and going is a bad idea. Hey, I'd pack right now, but there are things me and my posse have to finish. [wink]
One Q: why are you colleages edgy? I don't understand.
Oh, and that's nice that you want to be able to help your mom. I think you all deserve to be happy!

My colleagues are edgy because of all the new policies and constraints...among other things I will not post here.
But this is a general feeling that people are expressing. It is getting old fast...
