Loitering Somewhere Between Manic And Depressive

Dec 10, 2008 23:36

If I were to manage my time most effectively, I should either be attempting to sleep in preparation for my early workday tomorrow or I should be working on one of the many projects which linger in the nearby horizon. However, attempting to sleep before midnight is an exercise in futility and my work deadlines aren't so immediate or engaging as to ( Read more... )

Personality-having girl also has a very cool name. And I feel vindicated that a former Arctic-dweller thinks it's a cold winter, too. As for me, I've been doing my part to accelerate global warming by driving everywhere because it is too fucking cold to bike.

I'm very sorry to hear about your stepfather's stepfather. Alzheimer's and stroke-related illness is terribly tough on everyone in the affected person's family, but that doesn't make the final loss any easier.

Why Travel To The Tropics When The Tropics Can Come To You? elucidar December 11 2008, 20:54:13 UTC
How I long for those balmy winters of the environmental apocalypse, as long as the temperature stops its ascent before it reaches Club Inferno levels.

i think we can ALL agree with that.

Besides, i plan on spending a great deal of the warm apocalypse in a nice, cool river.

Katie was in the mood for shwarma (which is similar to falafel except that instead of the chickpea falafel filling, lamb is substituted)
Get this abomination out off of my planet!

Even Kaliri, my coworker with a personality, was complaining about how cold it has been, and she's lived most of her life above the Arctic Circle.
Well, now i don't feel too wimpy in regards to my hatred of this cold.

a car that runs not only on fossil fuels, but aerosol cans, heavily processed plastics, old-growth virgin forests, and the life-force of hippies.
Not only would i drive this vehicle, i'd sell them to passer-bys.

J had a paper to write on Saturday night, so Erin and I returned to Davis much earlier than usual.
Although i'm glad you got some quality Liv Tyler In a Short Skirt time, i imagine that with the end of this semester coming in another week, i should be more socially available soon.

Culinary Abortions For Some, Miniature American Flags For Others elucidar December 11 2008, 21:02:13 UTC
The appeal of shwarma is elusive to me as well; the best part about falafel is the falafel itself, not the accompanying elements. However, I take comfort in the fact that falafel was ultimately consumed by all. It's almost as though some higher power, through the auspex of divine intervention, sought to thwart Katie from perpetuating this culinary sin ( ... )

plus, it's indirect advocacy for you, so I call that a win.
yessss!!! You're like a beacon of advocacy, bringing others into the light from their own clouded, fogged selfishness, beckoning them into the harbor of J admiration.

I'd consider her attractive, except I can't look past those lips
you silly insomniacs, that's what paper bags are for!

The harbor of J admiration really is the best harbor of all; I'd like to own a beach house there someday.

Ah, paper bags... it all makes sense now. Well, I'm off to the county dump to dispose of these old carpets. Yes, carpets... that's perfectly feasible.

I don't know what everyone's complaining about. I LOVE this weather. It's probably different for me here on the Penninsula than for y'all up there in Davis-Land, but I'm totally diggin the cold. I get to cuddle with kitties under blankets and bundle up in sweaters and whatnot. :)

I'm sorry that the play wasn't good. :( I'm going to see Arcadia (with my little cousin in it!) tomorrow at San Francisco State. I'm rather excited about it... though it's been so long since I've seen/read it, I'm worried a lot of it is going to go over my head.

The Freezer And The Oven elucidar December 13 2008, 07:35:44 UTC
Perhaps if I had the luxury of remaining inside more often during the week, I'd be more inclined to appreciate this frigid weather. However, my threshold for cold is minimal while my threshold for heat is exceptionally high. Besides, being inside too much makes me feel all sluggish and unproductive.

No need to apologize for the play. I went more so to hang out with my friends than for the play itself, and since they thought the play was abysmal and non-engaging as well, it simply meant for time for socialization.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Arcadia, and since the narrative is complex and engaging, even if perhaps densely layered, it should be a worthwhile production.

I get to sit around and be unproductive, because I'm incubating. That in itself makes me feel like I'm doing something productive. ;)

It was really wonderful. We got there and it was sold out... so we sat down and waited, hoping a good samaritan would come by and give us tickets... and it happened! :) So we got to see the show. It was wonderful.

....I completely forgot what I was going to write. I got distracted (and horrified) by the ugly man picture. It seems the "orange squirrel" user pic has been replaced by a B&W photo of an ugly cave-man looking guy, holding an old camera....very disturbing.

Though you do seem to be very popular with the number of people visiting you lately. Sorry to hear about your stepfather's stepfather.

I remember I had that strange photo problem once before, but it looks like it's fixed. If not, the original one still looks the same to me.

I do approve of popularity... soon to be exponentially increased by you and D.
