Apple Cores And Shredded Chinese Newspapers

It seems like with every boon, so too is there a counter-boon. Although this may create some sort of cosmic harmony and psychological balance, I would welcome some karmic discord in exchange for things to be untainted by looming responsibilities. Recent events have been either neutral or pleasant for the most part, I just find myself unable to ( Read more... )

I'm a little confused on the late afternoon thing because when I think dinnertime, I think 7:30 or 8 pm and late afternoon to me is 3 or 4pm in the wintertime. Did you want to have people over first and then go to dinner? Or do you want a really early dinner?

Although I will be old, I don't think I'm quite old enough to start having dinner that early.

I suppose I was thinking people would start showing up around 5:00 or so, and then possibly to dinner around 6:30, followed by more fun times afterward. I'm flexible, at least metaphorically speaking, as this cold weather certainly isn't conducive to muscle loosening.

"However, instead of healthy vitamins and minerals, this bar is crammed full of apple cores and shredded Chinese newspapers. Needless to say, it leaves an unpleasant taste in my mouth and an immovable stone in the base of my stomach."

You are always so terribly clever and witty, you make me laugh and laugh...I do wonder though, could you be anemic?

I'm pleased that you're amused, rather than alienated or concerned by my sleep-deprived ramblings and reflections.

Although I'm a vegetarian, which does slightly increase my risk for anemia, I don't believe I'm anemic. It has never been an issue in the past when general blood work is done, and when I have the luxury of waking up a few hours later, I generally feel refreshed and energetic.

Basically, I think it's more an issue of ever increasing obligations, a lack of motivation, and the cold weather -- all combined with the usual insomnia to put me in this funk.

Nevertheless, I'm already in a state to get out of this rut, and into the groove.

poor casyup... It is a great irony, i suppose, that with your awesome healing powers you can keep an entire army afloat, but cannot mend your own tired frame from it's daily ailments. My method of helping, head-bashing, may not be of ultimate use is this particular circumstance, but i offer the help nevertheless.

And now i have a reason to visit Bejing. Too bad the place will surely be closed by the time i would have the opportunity to visit. Instead of going there for your birthday, i say you pick another, more local, restaurant, and we will name each item chosen off the menu as an in-game meal you are able to prepare. Buzzard Bites and Spicy Fried Herring for all!

I definitely appreciate the extension of your unique brand of coping services, and if it weren't for the severe legal ramifications of such actions, I might accept your proposal for beating the problems until they subside. However, this weekend promises not only to bring me a much welcomed spirit buff, enough to sustain my mana throughout the week and perhaps even throughout the entire month.

I'd like to think that Spicy Fried Herring and Cuttlesteak come in vegetarian friendly forms; I haven't been to an Indian restaurant for awhile, and India is similar to China, except with way better food.

Delicious Colonialism elucidar December 22 2008, 07:20:51 UTC
That's an excellent point; in fact, one of the main reasons for England being such a colonial power was the accumulation of spices and food that actually had a pleasant flavor.

You know, if all you had to eat every day was traditional British cuisine, you'd feel like you had nothing to lose.

I very much wish I could celebrate with you tomorrow! I'll be home on Thursday (wow it feels a lot closer than a week) and will hopefully see you at least once while I'm there.

I just thought I would remind you that you can use the internet at Starbucks that is around the corner from your house. If you buy a starbucks gift card and register it online you get 2 hours of free wi-fi or if you'd like you can use my username/password to log on as I am a starbucks partner I get as much free wi-fi as I can consume. I get home Sunday night (tomorrow!) and will hopefully get to see you when you are in town. Call me!

Starbucks wireless internet definitely isn't a bad idea, especially if I feel the need to escape my parents' house as it's congested with many relatives. I will definitely call you when I'm in town; however, I doubt I will have an opportunity to see you until after Christmas. Hopefully you will still be around by then...

It was definitely unfortunate that you weren't there, but I assume I will have the opportunity to see you once... even if I have to hitchhike my way to Carmichael through an array of distasteful services rendered on truck drivers.
