If someone makes a promise to you, no matter how small, no matter how ridiculous, but it means something to you even if they don't understand why it means as much as it does, do you expect them to keep it? And if they don't, do you start to lose all ability to trust them afterwards? And what do you do when it happens not just once, but more than ( Read more... )

i hope everything is ok doll face...

i believe ultimately in promises, and when they are broken.. well.. i lose trust in that person, if they break them over and over again, they have less and less trust. if i found out they were only promising shit to shut me up, yeah that would be a breaking point...

A promise is a promise. Promise, like the word love, is far too thrown around. People say them without having any real care what they mean or what they mean to other people when they say them.

I can’t say I've never broken a promise, I have. But when a promise means something to someone I do my damnedest to keep it. Why? Because its important to them. That’s all that really counts, all the reason needed to keep it.

If it’s a promise I know I can’t keep, I don’t say I will. Sort of harsh but in the long run better to not say it at all then to promise something you cant keep.
