Torchwood: A Day in the Death

Mar 02, 2008 02:34

I like Owen's purple tshirt.

Underwater!Shouting Owen looks funny.

That girl on the roof reminds me of someone. I guess she's going to get retconned?

Eww, don't touch it!

"I was bought back. Like Jesus really, but without the beard. Shit, I'm never gonna have a beard..." <3

Mean!Jack! And Ianto as his minion. (But, I like how you can see Ianto's displeasure at having to do this to a friend.)

Lol at both Ianto and Owen's reactions to the coffee suggestion.

Ianto/Coffee OTP

"I thought you liked your coffee."
"Have you seen what happens when I drink these days?"
*look of distate, remove cup*

I love Ianto's slightly pained look at Owen abusing the coffee machine.

This whole scene between Owen and Ianto is great, I love how they've moved on from their rivalry (and even though Owen is defensive here, it's like you can see Ianto is worried about him). It just goes to show how the writing has improved.

Burn has kinda nice arms.

I love the whole Martha/Owen relationship with their mutual sarcasm. (Lol at Martha's innuendo).

Gwen, why are you suddenly in charge? I dislike this. You and Jack should stop being evil to Owen. (Again, why was Gwen 2IC when Jack was away?) I find it difficult to correlate Jack and Owen's bonding last week with this colder version of Jack this week. And Gwen? For someone who is supposed to be oh-so-caring, you're doing a good job of turning into Jack's compartmentalised coldness.

Lol @ coffee swapping! (And their concern for Owen's feelings.)

Ianto's face after Owen's comment about TinTin and the dog!

Okay, the girl on the roof reminds of Sophia Myles.

"Has he seen Jack? They always get jealous when they meet Jack."

Since when have you cared about rules and regulations, Jack?

"Jack, I'm dead. I'm permanently chilled."

Have all Torchwood employees had a pay rise that allows them to move to lovely new flats? (Bar Gwen, of course.)

Burn Gorman does that dead emotionless stare far too well.

Tosh's action for a bottle opener is really cute.

I feel so sorry for this woman. That whole sequence was really sad, particularly the shot of her alone on the road in her dress.

Ooww! Owen, don't do that! Poor Tosh, she just wants to help.

"Skinny guy in tight jeans jumps into the water? I was taking pictures."

Did Ianto say "a pair of Ikea-n wings"? I have mental images of Ianto in Ikea buying wings now.

Tosh, pleeease stand up for yourself.

Hah, Owen is a hoodie. XD

"Literally too cool for school"? Really, Owen? Literally too cheesy and forced.

Owen is so covert, telling everyone he's dead and his full name. *eye roll*

The music in this episode is awesome. Reminds me of Doomsday with the baseline. I hope a Torchwood soundtrack is released.

Richard Briers! <3 How does he know about Torchwood?

I love his comment about Tosh's legs and her slight smile in response. Aren't the best compliments those from complete strangers?

The pulse is making the same noise as the big whale.

Owen/Richard Briers bonding <3 His bedside manner ain't so bad after all.

"Alone, and lying in my own piss. And do you know what I want?"
"Clean sheets?" (Scratch that bedside manner comment)

I would loved to have seen Tosh's reaction to Richard Briers comment that Owen is still holding his hand.

:( at Owen's goodbyes, especially Gwen and Ianto's reactions.

The pulse looks like a heart. When I first saw Owen say 'This is a reply', it gave me shivers. And why is it in his backpack?

Owen/Martha hug <3

Why isn't Tosh at this farewell to Martha?

I don't blame Martha for kissing Jack, but am surprised he didn't respond. I mean, I get he's startled, but still. That scene seemed a bit odd.

Martha. Where are you going? That goes straight back to Torchwood and NOWHERE useful!

Owen/Tosh <3

I really like this nicer Owen, I like that he's got this caring side and cares enough to help a complete stranger. Having said that, it will be nice to have a new storyline... But still, yay Owen!

I feel Martha was underused this episode, which is a shame, because this version of her character is so great and fits in well with her having this fun relationship with Owen and the nice moments you see of her with Ianto and Gwen.

Preview:
Jack/Gwen. DO NOT WANT.

And as a random aside, I was watching some outtakes of Season 1 and I swear Ianto was so much more Welsh then, with bigger hair. It's a bit like watching back episodes from a show you used to watch as a child. Particular episode one, it's so weird to see.
