Black Ice seems like such a long time ago now, even when this sequel isn't finished yet (being posted; it's all written). Black Ice was originally mainly just me testing the water of a new genre/pairing, to see if I could pull it off...I can't believe I'm still working on it over a year later!
I'm so pleased you like them both and that the characterisation seems okay. The semi-consciousness was difficult but interesting to write, I'm glad you thought it made sense.
Sherlock still seems to be a bit off... -- Glad this comes through. He's still recovering from what was after all a very severe accident, but obviously being him he hasn't given himself time to rest or recover and he's not going to be straight back on top of his game after something like that.
As for whether it's Moriarty or others, or whether he's reading too much into things...hope you enjoy the next few chapters. :P
