I am a bit further now than these pictures indicate.... But here is how everything will likely fit together. Nothing says sweetness and romance like a head on a stick at your feet!
Oh Lint is my arch-rival! I can't even see it until I get out the clay then, bam! it's everywhere, just like tribbles. I do a couple of things to get rid of it. I dust and vacuum in my craft area frequently and I invested in an air filter I use in the room. I wear light colored clothing when sculpting and things that don't shed fibers because they will get right on the clay.
but despite all that I still get plenty on there, just a lot less than usual. So I very frequently scrape it off the piece with an X-acto knife.
Even then there is lint! Tenacious stuff it is. After I have an area completed I don't care too much because I'll cure the piece then sand the lint off the surface. I take acetone on a paintbrush to the surface to smooth out the scritchy-scratches from the sandpaper.
Quite a production, I know but this multi-pronged approach is the only way I have found to have a lint-free final product.
