Summary: It's fairly simple: they go back home.

They haven't been walking for long, but Al is already feeling tiredness weighing on his bones, and he doesn't care. He doesn't care because he is feeling his bones, he's feeling his muscles and the small sounds in his throat. His feet are touching the ground, one after the other, his hand on the handle of his crutch. The taste of milk and bread and fruit is still sticky on the roof of his mouth. Next to him, Ed's hair is shining under the sun, more golden than before, and Ed is whistling (for the first time in years) and the sound is richer and stronger than before.
They put their feet one in front of the other and go home.
