"Comedy Central rolls with 'Stella
Comedy Central has picked up "Stella," ordering 10 episodes of the scripted laffer.
Meanwhile, the net has greenlit eight episodes of the prank show "Con," starring Skyler Stone ("Stuck on You").
"Stella," a single-cam comedy from the "Wet Hot American Summer" team of Michael Ian Black, Michael Showalter and David Wain, revolves around three unemployed guys thrown into absurd situations. Trio will write, star and exec produce the series, which is based on the group's stage show.
Pilot was shot last year (Daily Variety, Nov. 17, 2004) as one of several on a talent-heavy development slate. "Stella" is slated for a summer premiere."
