Make best use of my £16 dinner allowance when traveling on expenses, making best use of the amenities in my hotel room. Room service prices started at about £12.50, with a £5 cover charge. I decided that Waitrose was a better bet.The Result

nou points out that I haven't accounted for the plastic bags which, at £1.69 for 20, would take me over-budget. In fairness, I won't be attempting to bill my employer for them, or for the other things I didn't consume in their entirety. (Expense claims have to be for expenses incurred *wholly*, necessarily and exclusively in the course of business, IIRC.) Including them takes me over budget, but does not tarnish my awesome victory.
