Femslash February
Femslash February is starting today, and I always feel like I never do enough to celebrate this month. I do enjoy femslash, so I always feel rather guilty when the time comes around and all I do is check the tag on Tumblr to see what other people are doing.
Not this year, though. This year, I'm going to be part of the celebration.
♀ First of all, I'm going to be your Femslash reccer on
I've already prepared eight awesome recs - somehow they're all explicit, I'm a bad person - and I cannot wait to gush about those gorgeous stories and fanarts. They're a nice variety of pairings and I hope you'll enjoy them as much as I did.
♀ Second thing I'm doing: I'm doing a mini Femslash Commentathon. I loved my December Advent Commentathon, I even found myself some new friends (*waves at new friends*) and those who responded were the loveliest ever. I'm not going to do 29 stories - in fact, I’ve decided that I’ll be doing 15 stories, post one every other day - but I'm going to leave some nice comments to some nice stories nonetheless. Looking forward to that.
♀ Third, I have a series called The Seven Deadly Sins, and I've just written a new instalment - the last one was back in 2013 - called Gluttony, featuring Ginny/Hermione (my femslash OTP, in case you were interested), and will post it soon! So excited about that. Haven't posted something in ages.
♀ Fourth, I've read some meta about Femslash in the past year and was very impressed with it, so I've decided to share those articles with you, in case you might be interested.

Tumblr, talks statistics about femslash in fan-fiction, and more specifically on AO3. I know that we all know what the state of F/F fan-fiction is on AO3 (all we have to do is search for F/F), but it's interesting to have a multi-fandom in-depth analysis of those, isn't it?
TWC is issuing a special issue on queer female fandom. The issue will come out in March 2017, but the deadline if you'd like to contribute with an essay or a paper is March 2016 (don't kill me if you want to participate! I just found out about this myself!). Sounds awesome, doesn't it?
