Boxes in showers are crimes against humanity. Kitties are even worse. Things that are bigger than kitties have the potential to be worse yet, if they are ornery.
Hear ya on the heating thing. This place leaks like a sieve, and today, the furnace decided to die. Maintenance finally came out, but didn't do a damned thing. Thank heavens for kitties and heated blankets.
God, that's awful. I hope you're keeping warm, and that they get it fixed very soon. Have you thought about buying a space heater? They really work if you put them in a room and close the door. That's worked for me the couple of times there's been no heat.
To help with the shower, install an Incredible Head. Not a pr0n movie title-these little brass showerheads deliver a forceful shower along with reduced gallons per minute. I love them! That should assist with overtaxing the water heater.
Is the heater a stand alone, or domestic coil within exiting heat plant? If gas or oil-fired, buildup of deposits in the bottom of the tank can cause early run out of hot water, as the crud is an insulator between fire and water. If electric, in addition to crud issues, an element could be bad/failed thermostat/failed safety thermostat.
This shower already almost skins me when I use it. The problem is that there's no direction to the spray and it gets everywhere. I'll take a look for the Incredible Head things...and not in the video store either.
Thanks for the advice...I don't even know where the water heater is located. I think I will give the maintenance guys a call today and ask what's up. I'm a bit sick of not having a warm shower.
