1. Why do Buffy and Spike belong together rather than Buffy and Angel? Am I supposed to have a logical answer to this? Because they do. When Angel walks away in S3 I was like "whatever," when I got to the end of Chosen I freaked out and am now writing hundreds of thousands of words of fanfic because I just couldn't believe that could be the end.
2. Do you miss the villain side of Spike? As a Spuffy FF writer or Fan - how do you reconcile the history of Spike as the evil Big Bad with his transformation journey due to falling in love with Buffy? In my real life profession I deal with all kinds of people with all kinds of backgrounds. The kind of person you are doesn't always match what you've done in your past. What matters is what you do now and in the future. Also it's fun to have Spike be bad sometimes, because it's fiction so it's safe ;-)
3. Who or What do you think is Buffy's nemesis? Is Buffy perhaps her own worst enemy due to her character traits when it comes to her love relationships? I think Buffy's need for outside

Oh - Beauty and the Beast! Of course. How did I not remember that? I said I couldn't think of anything, and that's one I may have even written. Doh! Thanks for the reminder.
I'm not an writer, not even a writer's toenail really - just a fan.
1. Why do Buffy and Spike belong together rather than Buffy and Angel? Well, they don't, really. There's even a pretty decent argument for why she doesn't belong with either. Dead, blood drinking former serial killers aren't exactly the types you introduce to your parents...and they're way old...
Nevertheless, Buffy and Angel had big time chemistry. But Angel walked away from her when he could have simply fixed the world's dumbest curse and stayed. He could have chosen to stay human, but he didn't. At very least he could have been there for her against Glory (as the PTB's had actually foreseen, dammit) but he wasn't. It's also a decent bet that the 'alpha' egos of both would have lead them down a nasty path, especially given the paternalistic nature of their relationship - but it could have worked IF he just stayed

Q1. Which Buffy romance didn't work and why? On the surface you have to say none of them did surely? But if you mean which didn't work on the series I'd say Riley - just because they actors seemed to have little chemistry and it was written into a corner. It didn't help that Spike was always there... and the ghost of perfect Angel.
Q2. Do you like or hate Bangel? I liked it well enough - it's just not the sort of relationship that holds my interest and it pretty much ended in S3. I'm with Spike on the eye rolling in "The Girl in Question". Give me snarky sexiness any day.
Q3. What romance in fiction do you compare Spuffy to? Ha! Pacey and Joey of course! Not that I watched Dawson's Creek, but Spike did :-) Also I'd add Beatrice and Benedick from Much Ado About Nothing. I always thought Whedon was attracted to this sort of relationship and that was a nod to it.
Q4. Do you think that Buffy loved Spike as a friend and not as a boyfriend? She was way nicer to him before they were lovers
