Belated happy Buffy, everyone! :) I celebrated by writing some blackout poems based on shooting scripts. They're here, my old Welcome to the Hellmouth one is here, and this below is one of the poems in text form. You can see its visual versions in the first post I linked.

dance
Season 2-ish Spuffy. Made of Marti Noxon's shooting script of "The Prom", using only the words of the shooting script in the sequence that they appear in the script.

dance
is kind of a broad term
just like love

what can I say?
he moves
space leaves captivity
beautiful super-maxi-jerk
not a person! MONSTER, natch'

vicious foe trained to kill
on the tape --
hello MATCH
tasty snack treat with brains
deadly ice cream kicking ass
we should dance

God in Heaven it's good to
party like HELL HOUNDS
fiercest babies let go
snarling breathless
they move
everything's perfect wild fun

come die with joy
OR
surprise me
dance not gone but mellowing

Love These - and thanks so much for posting them here. You use a wonderful technique for taking the scripts and totally making them your own.

I especially like the last one.

Thank you! And thanks for coaxing me to come over here.

"technique for taking the scripts and totally making them your own" What a nice way to describe it - I suppose I do establish a personal relationship with the source material, like any fan artist. ^^

"I especially like the last one." The one with the sound of being eaten, really? I'm glad AND surprised!

absolutely they become the second level creation - each is a unique vision and choice - like picking out details from one art piece and creating a totally new and different work.

I absolutely love the concept of Found Things and Random Patterns in the making of art and this is how I see these.

I just pull out a script that I will be working on - plus, after my massive Cleaning Out project to get my working space reorganized I will be doing some graphics and blackout poems.
