Adventures in Panniculectomyfulness.

So here is a pic of me today. I had the surgery 6 days ago. My entire abdomen area and top of my hips are VERY swollen. The surgeon said that it will be about 90% flatter in 4-6 weeks, when all of the fluid and swelling from the internal cuts have gone down. So I'm looking forward to it being a lot flatter and being able to show da navel off. My ( Read more... )

:-D I can't WAIT until the swelling goes down! It is so weird....my stomach and hips are all thick and tight with swelling. I thought bloating was bad!

You look fantastic! Very happy for you!

I'd like to see pics. I have a feeling I'll be doing something similar after I'm done having babies. Pregnancy has not done good things to my belly.

Of course! I will send them as soon as they are available :) Thank you Mel, I feel pretty. Hehe.

I didn't get the full tummy tuck. What I had was a Panniculectomy. The difference in the two is that I didn't have the muscle tightening that comes with a tummy tuck (which is fine, I want babies). You look absolutely beautiful, I can't imagine you needing a TT. But if you choose to have one, feel free to email me anytime and I'll tell you all about the experience.

I have a lot of stretch marks and loose skin from the pregnancies. It's not the end of the world, but it would be nice to have it fixed.

I have to get scar cream for my stretch marks. Luckily, surgeons provide their patients with free RX strength scar cream that is twice the strength of Mederma! :)

Coolness!

Crystal and I have been batting the surgery idea around some (since her weight loss did leave her with some excess skin), so I'm curious how you like it in the end. :)

Hell, I love it NOW! To look in the mirror and see no belly, just flatness, is unlike anything I've ever experienced. And it will only get way better!

Insurance should pay for her panniculectomy. Tell her to go for it - it is very minimal pain and discomfort and beyond worth it.

You look great! But I always thought you looked great. You know, for a white chick.
:-)

I hope the interview went well, Ash!
