The air itself was tense. Atem could have sworn he could poke the space in front of him and be met with resistance. Granted, that was a physical impossibility and there was no magic afflicting the area. But he wore a faint smile at the way the pair interacted. Akefia was pretty obviously trying.

Awkward often led to better outcomes, apparently.

Akefia relented and looked down at Yugi. "Well er.. Now that I know you're ok I should go right...?" Yes the thief was asking the young boy for direction. If Atem made fun of him for it he'd kick him in the teeth. Akefia briefly looked to Atem to see his reaction. He was smiling? Akefia frowned, trying to figure out why the other was smiling like that. It didn't seem smug at all.

"Oh no. Stay," Yugi smiled. "It's been awhile since I've had guests. And it wouldn't be fair to you since you came all the way over here to see me. Isn't that right, Atem?" he asked, taking a glance over his shoulder at him.

His smile turned only a fraction towards amusement with the confusion Akefia offered. His attention turned to Yuugi upon address and he nodded.

"Wouldn't make sense to just up and leave now."

Akefia looked away from Atem back to Yugi. "I guess I could stay then. See no reason not to." It's not like he had a job to be to. Akefia stole what he needed, and nothing more. Unless it was for sport with Jing. Which happened now and then.
