Junkyards? My knowledge of things automotive in general is limited, but my understanding is that there comes a point at which one's tire is shot beyond the ability of a mechanic to patch, if indeed there are those providing such services in your country. At this point, you've got an inert object that for all practical purposes will not biodegrade. Now here in the States we come up with creative reuses for them, but I suspect that many countries don't mulch their used tires for playground covering. At which point you have a large supply of what is apparently a flammable object that serves no other purpose and has the added bonus of smelling terrible while burning, adding an annoyance factor to whomever you're trying to harass. So why not tires?
Good point. As long as they're not burning good tires. Not that I support the burning of any tires, and I think this protest is rather dumb. Yeah, maybe there was ballot tampering. There was in Florida, why not in Haiti? But even if there does have to be a runoff election, Preval will prevail. Hence, the stupidity of this violent protest.
I really don't know where people get the tires from either. Back in France in the nineteenth century, when people felt like rebelling against the government, they just used to build barricades with furniture. Which I guess made more sense, though even there, furniture was certainly an economically valuable commodity.
In case it's not clear enough from the preceding example, eliseisahippo.com=the URL for the address where you want to send people, and "You know when you start to feel like a fork?" is the text behind which you want the link to be hidden.
