We don't really all look alike, Mr. Mars

I know, I know. Everyone else is going to get angry and say, "This isn't the Veronica Mars I fell in love with." They're going to regard their televisions with disgust and wish the show gets cancelled. But I'm not with them. Because this might not be the exact Veronica Mars I fell in love with, and it might be illogical at times, but it's still better than 95 percent of shit on TV these days.

I mean, this is the same TV-viewing week that brought us the ill-fated Grey's Anatomy spin-off.

Honestly, the mystery of the week wasn't half-bad. There was actual sleuthing involved, and I'm all for actual mystery arcs. Surprisingly, I liked the one-arch thing. It's a mystery about 20x better than some of the MotWs that ran underneath the main arcs in seasons one and two, and better than ALL of this season's previous MotWs. And honestly, the message (perhaps a bit cheesy) was good without being overly hooky. That being said: CHECK V HITTING ON THE ARAB GUY. I love the shows she puts on to solve mysteries. Was anyone else reminded of "sugerpuss" and the wedding book?

I'm warming up to Piz, since in all likely hood the SUPER TERRIBLE BAD GREY'S SPINOFF (STBGS) will be picked up. Even if there is a season four of VM, the STBGS will take Piz away. I honestly don't mind Chris Lowell. He's funny in interviews, and he's not bad looking. So I hope that he and Veronica have fun. And I hope Logan makes more of those mopey faces. I do love his emo-wallowing. I hope he takes the Face!Cake and shoves it in Parker's face... damn, it's like my fingers don't know what they're typing!

I had to keep in mind throughout this entire episode that it's been two months since VM went on hiatus and thus two months since we last saw LoPar gearing up for romance. Silly LoPar, thinking V was actually okay with what they were doing. I kind of like this side of Logan, though seriously. THE CAKE. What is there to say about the cake, except disturbingly creepy? I channel years of my BFF Claire working in the HyVee bakery and mocking people who wanted to eat their children's faces. A part of me wishes that Parker was written as the vindictive sort who'd give V a piece of Logan's face on purpose. Then again, a part of me simply wishes Parker was written with, you know, an ounce of character depth.

But, all that aside, I think that this sweeter side of Logan is cute. I sincerely hope that V is taking notes. Logan capable of being nice. Logan planning birthday party. Logan would have done something like this for me if I'd stick with him long enough to have a birthday while we dated. (Yes, I know he was around for her 19th, but... I'm not going to count it because we didn't see it.)

Speaking of which, Logan had a birthday over hiatus. Do you think that there was a Face!Cake 1.0, and that's how he "remembered"?

I'm really glad we're moving on from Mac/Bronson, because I've dated those activists types before and it's all animals and vegetarianism and poison ivy where the sun don't shine after camping trips. Besides, how cool would it be if people got your name mixed up with your significant other's? I mean, A and I get mistaken for siblings. It can't be worse.

I think things are going to get interesting on the Keith front down at the Sheriff's station. It's sad that Keith pays Wallace more mind than the kid's supposed BFF, but that line about Biggie was priceless. And Wallace finally telling V to get a clue? It's a bone and I'm slobbering all over it.

So many other thoughts, but mostly I should be studying/reading so I can walk my ass to the bookstore later for buyback. Seriously, this wasn't that bad, I didn't think. I actually enjoyed the episode. I mean, given the STBGS, anything on TV looked good this week. And maybe I like the rollercoaster. At least we're getting L/V screen time and a very clear "not over each other" vibe.
