I've been pretty quiet on her as of late, so it may surprise some of you to learn that I'm writing fic again. Some of it's been "just for me," and the rest is planning for projects I hope will turn out in the long run. So bear with me, and I may produce

"One True Pairing" ship:
Harry/Hermione, Harry Potter

I have too many issue with the books. But the universe created is seductive. And I have seen fanfics that took these characters and really made something of them! Especially those that never escaped the cardboard-cutout hell in JKR's. (Ginny. Never seemed real to me. She got a much better life in some amazing fan creations.)

But the one that feels real -- not surprising, since JKR based her on herself -- is Hermione. I loved her from the get-go. If I ever shipped anyone in the books, it was Harry/Hermione. The picture they presented was: Hermione -- the brains of the operation, Harry -- the braun, and Ron -- the cheerleader. (He got to do things in the end. Even fight in the last books. But by that time it was too late for me to take him seriously.).
