It's a Toronto thing. I have gone to shows in Buffalo, and Montreal, both had the same sort of tight wads, but the vast majority of people were there for a good time. They wanted to meet people, enjoy some tunes, and just have a good night out.

In Toronto, it's all about the name dropping, shmoozing, and the fucking moshing (I don't pay money to have beer spilt all over me and get bruised up - if I did, at least charge me half price). I think it's partly due to the influx of the just turning 19 crowd, and the scenesters from the burbs.

Last time I was at a club near Queen and Bathurst, the name escapes me, some drunk couple started litterally finger banging and sucking on parts you didn't want to see get sucked on, in the middle of the dance floor. Ruined my buzz.
