“You know Stefan,” Damon starts, walking around him and trailing a finger across the back of Stefan’s neck. He gets no reaction, much to his annoyance. “I did warn you.”
That works, and Stefan’s head turns sharply toward him. “What have you done?”
Damon chuckles lightly. “Oh you know me brother, I’ve done everything. But this isn’t about me, is it?”
“Isn’t it?”
“No,” he replies curtly and leans closer to whisper into Stefan’s ear. “It’s about you. You are so weak now. It’s embarrassing.”
Stefan shudders at the feel of his breath, but he doesn’t move away and Damon grins. He’s not the only one getting something out of this.
“You could be so much better, so much stronger, if you just gave in already.”
Stefan takes a step away, lowers his eyes to the floor, but it’s not enough to disguise the way they’ve changed at the mere suggestion of feeding. “I’m not doing that anymore Damon.”
“No?” He steps forward, trapping Stefan again. “Not even a little?” He teases.
“Stop it.”
Damon feels his fangs extend, a physical betrayal of how much he wants. He runs the tip of his tongue over them, feeling the sharpness. “You never take things anymore Stefan. You got so boring. So old.” He watches as Stefan’s eyes get darker still and his breaths sound heavier, more ragged. Damon leans forward and drags the point of his fang across Stefan’s neck. Right over the spot where his pulse should beat. “Nothing stops me getting what I want.”
“Damon,” Stefan says, his tone warning. It only encourages him more.
“Nothing is going to stop me,” he growls, and it’s enough for Stefan to turn his head and to finally give in to him.
The kiss is messy, with fangs that prick skin and it’s fiery and angry, a battle of wills, but Damon had expected nothing less. It had been forever, several lifetimes, and now, finally, he had what he’d always wanted.
What he’ll always want.
