In general, I'm not reading post S4 fic about these two, as anything in which they are not hopelessly broken wouldn't make ring true. And, in that case, why depress myself?

You are an exception to the rule, of course. This was heartbreaking to read, and I mean that in the nicest possible way. They deserved better than what canon gave them, so thanks for writing this like you actually care about the characters.

I know what you mean, anything that wants to ring true to canon has to, by definition, be horribly depressing and yeah, hopefully this is, even though I wish it didn't have to be.

This is the most realistic post S4 fic written about Cook and Effy. This feels like something that would actually happen to them.

As much as I love Katie/Cook, these two are my 'OTP' of gen 2, so I really love this. There's not enough CE fic floating around, and seeing this on my flist (written by you) nearly gave me a heart attack.

It's all so well written, really. You never cease to amaze me with your understanding of each character you write, especially Cook who I would imagine is a tough Cookie to get right. I don't get how you absolutely get every single one, but you do. Inspiring. :P

This was beautiful and, maybe it's pushing it, but I really hope you get around to writing more about these two.

Thanks mate, I really wanted to do something a few years down the line, where the feelings aren't quite as raw, but are just as real, so I'm really pleased that it comes across as plausible.

Ha, funnily enough I don't find Cook too difficult - out of these two it's Effy by a mile that's harder for me. But that's a really lovely compliment, thanks :)

Lol, not pushing it at all. I dunno if I'll write more of them, I definitely wouldn't rule it out, but yeah, it'd be awfully depressing unless it went AU, and well, I dunno really! Need an idea first!
