crappy canned peaches and excellent canned pears

The crappy peaches turned out fairly well when canned. Admittedly, I added a TON of sugar to them, so now they taste quite a bit like store peaches canned in heavy syrup. Heavy syrup must be the way that canned peach manufacturers make up for using the crappy peaches
