Boys seldom make passes at girls who wear glasses

Way-hey!

Stuff I love:
- my job
- my coworkers
- my brother (who is also a coworker, and who is...just fantastic.  Also, not actually related to me.)
- the wit of Dorothy Parker (see Subject).  I would like it better if people actually adhered to it,  but...
- and this:

Dorothy Parker is WRONG. But considering she was well before my time, she could well have been accurate for her day and age. :P to her.

Is she the same one who said:

"I wish I could drink like a lady,
I'll have 1 or 2 at the most
After 3 I'm under the table,
After 4 I'm under my host." ??

Because if she is, then I too have adopted one of her witty phrases. :D

Oh and, as to having a life...we are still on for coffee now, right?

Yarrr, she be th' one. (I used to have the poem you quoted as my e-mail signature at work, funnily enough...) Eh...I still subscribe to her POV, and shake my head sadly at the few confused individuals who try to contradict her.

And coffee would be delightful! After writing a novel about the evil of Starbucks - yes, I'm serious - I've pretty much got coffee on the brain. (Which is kind of like water on the brain, but far less likely to cause permanent damage.)

I am so very jealous of you right now. I am also so very deeply disappointed in myself, even though I have been assured that there was nothing I could do.

It's nothing to be jealous of, really. Just different priorities, that's all. For example, I believe interaction with others to be expendable.

Then why are we doing coffee? :P

As for her POV about glasses, I'm happy to report that 'seldom' is a little too seldom to sum up my own experience as a bespectacled wench. :D I'm sure if you tried the whole 'interaction with others' thing, you'd have a similar report. ;)

I'm free weekends. Now we need to settle a time...

Because it's not November anymore. ;) I actually turned down a, uh, social invitation last month with the reasoning, "I'm writing a novel this month." What about the next night? "Um, novel. All month long."

I was prepared to tell you that Wednesdays were bad for me, before remembering that you work evenings. Silly Jen. Weekends are good for me! :) And I'm terribly sorry about not logging in sooner, thereby null-and-voidifying this weekend.
