A lot of the bacc core classes are huge-and you don't really get to know your professors, but suprisingly a lot of the classes I've taken over the last three years the professors know my name etc. Once you get into your "major" classes (or minor, etc) you usually get to know your professors which is cool.
I'm glad you're going to OSU because I really want to get to know you...anyone who will put up with Kolby has got to be cool:)
As far as dorms-Bloss is cool because you share a bathroom with your roommate and two other people, but its the furthest from campus. (a whole 2 minute walk, haha)
haha.. yea bloss was gonna be my first choice... but then i have NO idea which one after that- i was trying to read about them in this little brochure i got- and they all sound fine, but i need someone to tell me from first hand expirience abotu them all.. haha
thanks sasha! i'm really excited to get to know you better too! It should be fun, i'm beyond ready to get out of bend and have my own life. :D
I live in bloss right now and it's a good spot. Next year it's going to be sophomore and above preferred, so it's either really hard / impossible to get in here. Buxton and Hawley are cool, as is sacket. WHATEVER YOU DO, DON'T SIGN UP FOR MCNARY, CALLAHAN, OR WILSON! That area is not desirable.
honestly state schools have so many advantages to private schools. both me and cristina(my roommate and bf from high school) went to private schools after high school because it's what everyone kind expected of us and what our friends did and our parents friends' kids did and it was such a waste of money. they have a poor selection of classes, not a diverse group of students. i mean the only black kids at university of portland were on our basketball team. and the school was filled with rich kids and kids who were in ROTC. people were just so snobby there because their daddy's had so much money and paid for everything. plus at PSU class sizes really aren't that big after you get out of intro classes and into your major. and there was like 1 class at UP where the prof actually knew kids names. i've already had more profs at PSU learn their students names and class sizes aren't all that big here. OSU is a great choice :)
That's exciting that you know where you're going. I got some letters in the mail yesterday, but I"m still waiting for my first choice (I won't know until April from Willamette). Isn't crazy how soon we'll be graduated and out of High School?!
i know.. its taking forever, but at the same time i can't even believe how fast this year is passing me by!! i'm sooo ready to be done and graduated, and my own person away from every aspect of highschool... YES!
hey em! good choice with osu! i'm sure you'll like it. :) hopefully i'll see you around town over spring break! but if i dont get to see you, good luck with tennis, etc. i miss your cute smile!
<3 Erin... p.s. i added you as a friend on my new lj :)
Hi Erin!! Thanks! i'm pretty excited...i'm really struggling with the whole room mate thing though, did you go with anyone you were friends with? eh- i just don't know weather to find a room mate on the search thing, or just have them randomly assign me.. haha
but i won't see you over spring break- i'll be in mexico :D but hopefully i'll see you in corvallis one of these weekends... and you and kt have to come see one of our matches at some point... for old times sake :D
I got a roomate randomly assigned to me and they did a really great job with it. If you fill in all your interests they generally find you a good match. And if not, its always easy to get a room switch. It'll work out.
But have fun in Mexico! I'll work on dragging KT out of Eugene for a match. :)
