I love the haunting moods and images, you paint them so well. Poor boys.

I hope you do continue this, but inbetween the lines of so much bleakness there's a spark of hope in their embrace. If you don't continue it, we can at least let it blossom in our own minds.

So sad for both of them, Zeke with his lonely life and Casey with his fighting parents. Both needs someone and I'm glad that Zeke is ready to give Casey a bit comfort. Maybe it can help both of them ...

Very powerful thought. Casey can make him feel everything, the full force of his life. I really enjoyed both parts of this and the story is a very promising beginning for a longer fic, if you do come back to it. I like the way you wrote the boys! And the great descriptions:
