I actually keep copies of all the HP books by my computer to facilitate writing fanfic. Yes, I'm pathetic.

I don't think we're pathetic or nerdy at all. I keep my HP hardcovers on the shelf just above my computer for the same reason, along with some other books like Quidditch Through the Ages and Fantastic Beasts & Where to Find Them *g*

I'm glad to hear that I am not alone! That makes me feel much better. :) I also have the school books there, along with a dictionary and thesaurus.

there's a really neat internet resource called the HP Lexicon, and it is supposed to have, like all the Harry Potter stuff according to canon. I've only messed with it once or twice myself, but it seems an invaluable tool for someone who writes bunches.

It's a great tool, and I use it all the time! Thanks for the tip, though--if I didn't know about it already, it would be really helpful.
